I keep thinking I should do something like this, so I suppose that this is as good a way to do it as any. I doubt anyone really cares much about what I have to say...

If any poor soul stumbles across this, my intention here is to put down some of my thoughts on a seriously weird variety of things that interest me and that may not appear to be otherwise related to one another in anyway. Like, right now, I'm totally obsessed with the new Battlestar Galactica, so there will doubtless be a plethora of random musings on that subject. I also tend to compose lengthy diatribes in my head on various subjects related to politics, like the war in Iraq, the response to Katrina, the threat to reproductive rights represented by the Bush administration, etc.

Um.

Computers suck.

I'm a software engineer, so I should know, eh?

Rant: Engineers who make changes and don't stick around to see if they've broken the build ought to be shot, especially the night before we try to go beta on something. This sucks. I'm sitting here trying to fix someone else's mistakes in code that I don't understand at all. Gaahh! So now I will be stuck waiting for another hour and a half before the next build finishes and I can actually finish my job. Assuming, of course, that there aren't any other problems.

But I digress.

Anyone who reads this will quickly discover that I digress a lot. Be patient with me. It's just my way. I'm going to try to just kind of do here what I usually just do in my head, which is compose arguments about many different topics. Beats talking to myself, I suppose.
